Life Cycles and Growing πŸ›πŸ¦‹πŸŒ±πŸŒ·

This half term, we have been learning lots about how things grow and change. Our first key text was “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. We enjoyed learning some new vocabulary and reading the story again and again until we could remember the key events. We used this to create our class story map so that we could tell the story without the book!

We used the story to help us learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. We practised putting the pictures of the life cycle in the correct order and explaining what happens at each stage. We also read some more books about the life cycle process to help us remember all of the information!

We then had a special delivery of very tiny caterpillars! We are watching them grow bigger and bigger each day, just like the Hungry Caterpillar.
